Celebrate Millions of Moments of Pride
New York is delighted to host the largest Pride celebration in the world, spanning the entire month of June in 2019.
In 2019, New York City will welcome the world to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and celebrate a half-century of progress for LGBT liberation. The Stonewall celebration will take place the weekend before our convention begins. You should consider coming to the area a little early to take part in this historic celebration. Stonewall 50 is being organized by Heritage of Pride, the volunteer-led membership organization that has produced NYC Pride since 1984. Visit the Stonewall 50 website to learn more and find out how to stay in touch with their organization.
Plans are underway for Times Squares to participate in the Stonewall 50/World Pride celebrations. They are planning to participate in the Pride Parade 2019 and will be hosting a World Pride Square Dance as part of the activities leading up to the IAGSDC Convention, Belle’s Run, in Philadelphia.
This dance will take place on Friday, June 28, 2019, before the parade. It will take place at the John Jay School of Criminal Justice, 534 W. 59th Street, New York, N.Y. 10019, from 6-10 PM with a fee of $20 per person. Fliers will be available soon. Registration will be available on the IAGSDC website.
